Brotherhood Bistro was born from a simple but powerful idea: to create a warm, welcoming spot in Skala that would stay open all year long, a place where both locals and visitors could gather, eat, drink, and feel at home.
Five years ago, while Valia was pregnant with their daughter and living temporarily in Athens, she and Spyros heard that a small venue on Skala’s main pedestrian street had become available. Spyros, who grew up surrounded by food and hospitality, had always dreamed of opening a place that served honest, quality dishes made with love. He inherited this passion from his father and today, his father is the head cook of the bistro, passing down the knowledge, flavors, and “cooking bug” that Spyros carries with him.
What the village was missing at the time was exactly what they decided to build: a bistro that stays open winter and summer, offering a lively meeting point even during the quietest months when most businesses in the area close. In many ways, Brotherhood gives life to the street in winter.
Everything at Brotherhood is made with care, soul, and genuine love.
In the winter, the atmosphere becomes even more special. Locals gather here to watch football and basketball games on the big screen and for a few hours, the bistro transforms into a classic English pub (in the funniest, most Greek way possible).
In the summer, Brotherhood opens its doors to travelers from all over the world. The menu expands to include a wide variety of breakfasts and brunch dishes, including a proper English breakfast, so that visitors can feel at home while discovering the warmth of Greek hospitality.
As for the rest of the menu:
• The pizzas and burgers are absolute must-tries.
• The signature cocktails are loved by both locals and tourists.
• In the winter, the brunch menu stays simple with just the omelettes, since the kitchen opens from midday until 22:30.
What truly defines Brotherhood, though, is the people behind it.
Valia and Spyros are young, hardworking, kind-hearted, and deeply committed to offering the best possible experience.
They treat customers with respect, warmth, and genuine hospitality.
And one thing they are very proud of: their bistro is a discrimination-free space where everyone is welcome.
Brotherhood Bistro isn’t just a place to eat but a place where the village gathers, where families meet, where visitors feel at home, and where every plate carries a piece of the people who prepare it.
